We have a system that allows you to view your relative without any special equipment other than an Internet connection and a web browser (Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator) you can see who comes to their door and other cameras can be set up around the home.
You choose where around the house you would like the cameras sited.

The system is simple to use by either the persons family or a central care centre. It uses a web interface to view the latest still images from the persons home. Each image has a date and time stamp to log visits.
The system can also email each time a movement past the camera is detected and can email an image of change.
You can also download a movie of the last day’s movements in the camera range that are again time and date stamped. The video can be adjusted for the amount of action at the site, more action and a longer video is created, up to 24 hours of action.

If a visitor or carer is due, you may want to watch live via any camera, the image is real time and updates every two seconds. You can change views from any of the camera’s.

If required audio can also be used to communicate with the carer or visitor (a microphone and speakers would be needed at the observers end).
If you feel you have missed a visit you can use the overview page to review the last few hours images.

The cameras can be placed almost anywhere within the house. Wireless options are available but this would be at an extra cost.
The audio is a new addition to Care cam giving two way conversation as clear as a telephone call. This feature doesn’t require any control from the clients home only from the observers end, it is also completely secure and requires passwords to enter the site to use the facility.

System requirements
At the clients site a telephone line and a power socket are all that is needed. The system can be modified to run even when the power has failed depending on the area. The telephone will not be interrupted so if Careline or similar is set up there would not be any interference as this system uses ADSL/Broadband to upload and for remote administration, which frees up the phone.

The system can keep someone in their own home rather than in a residential home, enjoying a normal quality of life, for longer. Also for 14% of the average cost of residential care.
